Rain!
Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. In August!
My dream come true.
That is all…

I did like some features of IOS 4.x, but holy cow did it slow down my 3G. It became intolerable. 15 seconds to open the messages app (I timed it!) Another 5 seconds to start a new message. That’s an eternity.
So I downgraded my iPhone 3G to the 3.1 software version and viola! It’s like new again. And yes, I restored the phone, reset the thing, etc — tried all the tricks before the downgrade – no luck.
So if you haven’t upgraded — I suggest you don’t if you have a 3G! The 3Gs and, of course, the iPhone 4 will probably be OK.

Holy Crap! Where have you been all my life? This will go great with my Wine Glass Holder!

Have you been to Ellen’s lately…to have sex?
So Ellensburg, the tiny town where I went to college, has a new commercial and theme to their old slogan.
Apparently so many of us got down and dirty in cow town that there is a baby boom and they all want to go to Ellensburg.
I kid you not…this is the theme to the commercial.
Oh, Ellen…
I was right. I knew I was. People: I’ve been here all my life. Trust. And stop whining.

Northwest’s preeminent meteorologist agrees with me…June sucks.
That is all.

Parting out an old server…remember when IDE and ISA cards ruled the

Going to the Portland office. Only 25 people on my Horizon CRJ-700 -
one of the last they have. Anyways the takeoff was awesome…we
rotated just prior to the 3000 foot marker, were a couple hundred feet
in the air by the N satellite and flaps retracted and power reduced as
we crossed the south field boundary… What a rush!
My aviation friends will certainly understand and appreciate!
Cliff Mass is on my side!!
Per my post last week (2 down below “[waaah, waaah] This rain is abnormal [Waaaah, waaah]“) One of the Northwest’s preeminent meteorologists, The UW’s Cliff Mass, agrees with my rant! OK, he doesn’t explicitly point me out or anything, but here is an expert on weather totally backing me up on what I’ve been saying forever. Outstanding.
Here’s his post:
The First Day of Summer: When Will It Be?
In fact, he’s more conservative than me in his findings — he says July 12 instead of my July 5th.
I love it when this happens — now I have an actual article by an expert to refer to when people complain (Which happens nearly every day! I swear….)
BTW, I *love* Cliff’s blog. I’m a total weather junkie.

Pictures never seem to do it justice
First nice spring sunset, sipping wine on the roof deck
STOP it. You are wrong. It is always like this.
The Seattle area gets a nice little sunny streak in early May, which make all the ex-pats go bananas that summer is here. Then it shuts down again with the last part of May and most of June being pretty cool with spats of rain all the time.
“Oh, this is so abnormal”
“Oh, this isn’t like other years”
Bull$hit. It is ALWAYS like this in Seattle spring. I’m tired of hearing about it — I thought I had posted about this previously on my blog to proove my point, but I’m making record now.
I need to remind everyone that summer around here does not start until exactly July 5th.
Oh, and more rain is in the forecast!! Hahahahahahahaha.
Had a nice day at the Washington State Museum and the Tacoma Glass
Museum and just general farting around Tacoma. We returned to the
Hotel Murano to have dinner…and let me tell you. Wow. Had this
incredible, indelible filet of beef topped with gorgonzola with prune
gastric and mashed potatos and spinach…unbelievable! Highly
recommended!
Sorry, didn’t know you had claimed the box…guess I’ll not move it
then after your much protesting my initial attempt.
Today the red couch, which has been in every home I have ever made,
passed down by the parents, will be transported to the big landfill in
the sky. No longer comfortable with springs bursting out the
backside, A sexy new loveseat recliner is taking it’s place. Age
discrimination for sure.
I will miss it. Hell, it’s almost like a sibling it’s been around
so long. I really have quite mixed feelings about it. But the time
must come for all things…
Peace and sleep well, dear red couch.
Deep Damn Dot Thoughts…
Going to try something new. Every so often I come across a quote or a passage in a text that I wish I had said. You know the ones — when you read it you immediately understand with and become tuned to the author tightly.
So now I will post quick missives when I find these. Perhaps, dear blog readers, it will be entertaining to you and you’ll also find that you agree with them as well. But to be frank, it’s all about me. Me me me me me! I want to start categorizing these things, so I’ll do so via the blog.
ANYWAYS, enough explanation chaff, on to the first one!…

“…My chief pilot is awesome at keeping us up to date. Some companies think it looks them look more professional or in control if they don’t tell you anything until it’s certain. It makes pilots nervous about what kind of Machiavellian plotting is going on, and doesn’t really fool them into thinking their company controls the weather.”

Garrett’s thoughts: I SO agree! If something changes and the original idea or information is bad then that’s they way the ball rolls. I don’t blame you. But I do get VERY upset when kept in the dark — it does not allow me to readily adapt how I think from day-to-day or allow me to think in terms of options that could be done. The weather is never “certain” like a business process. And, in my experience, “Business processes” aren’t really tuned-in to businesses and at all certain that often either. So what gives with all that secrecy?
So, information hoarders: STOP IT. Soon you will have your own reality show on A&E and will will point at you and make fun of you.
Mystery candy in new, un-opened package of server rack screws. How on
Earth did that happen? The screw factory doubles as a candy store?!
I guess we must be incredibly entertaining house guests to deserve

Kona to Hilo via Kohala coast, Upolu point, Hamakua coast and back via
Waimea. Cessna 182 N5692P 2.2 hours of time logged. Simply awesome.
Here’s the view from our condo in Kona town. Didn’t realize the
powerlines were there… Funny what your mind filters out. The
flowering trees below I believe are Gardenia trees. Whatever they are
they smell awesome!
I had a toaster. I hated it. Despised it.
No more!
Look at my new toaster OVEN! I’m more excited about it than I
probably should be, but hey – it’s the little things in life, right?
I already know it makes great chicken nuggets
